KIA’S : on 1st, 21st and 37th movements
MEANING: Toi-Gye is the pen name of the scholar Yi Hwang, an authority on non-confucianism.

Toi-Gye position at 12:00 (right hand covering left at belt level)

  1. Fold for a scoop block to the left. “kia”
  2. Scoop block to the left in a fighting stance.
  3. Grab the groin with the right hand.
  4. Slide your left foot to the right as you bring back the groin grab.
  5. Fold for a scoop block to the right.
  6. Scoop block to the right in a fighting stance.
  7. Grab the groin with the left hand.
  8. Slide your right foot to the left as you bring back the groin grab.
  9. Cross punch with the right hand high to 12:00 in a left leg forebalance.
  10. Fold and double punch to the head.
  11. Leaving your left hand out, front kick with your right leg and land in a right leg forebalance.
  12. Punch with your right hand and then left.
  13. Fold for a raised double fist strike (knuckles out) facing 9:00 with fists resting on hips and elbows out.
  14. Step with right leg to face 6:00 in a horsestance with raised double fist strike (fists in).
  15. Fold (fists out) and step with left leg to face 12:00 in a horsestance with raised double fist strike (fists in).
  16. Fold (fists out) and step with left leg to face 6:00 in a horsestance with raised double fist strike (fists in).
  17. Fold (fists out) and step with right leg to face 12:00 in a horsestance with raised double fist strike (fists in).
  18. Fold (fists out) and step with left leg to face 6:00 in a horsestance with raised double fist strike (fists in).
  19. Fold (fists out) and step with left leg to face 12:00 in a horsestance with raised double fist strike (fists in).
  20. Step back with right leg and sudo block low.
  21. Grab the back of the opponent’s head and knee it. “kia”
  22. Turn to face 6:00 and sudo block in a left side fighting stance.
  23. Left leg front kick.
  24. While setting front kick down in a left forebalance, spear thrust with right hand and then left hand.
  25. Sudo block in a right side fighting stance.
  26. Right leg front kick.
  27. While setting front kick down in a right forebalance, spear thrust with left hand and then right hand.
  28. Grab the groin with the right hand and step back with the right leg.
  29. Jump to 6:00 and crossblock low.
  30. Song-sue block in a right forebalance to 7:30.
  31. Left hand sudo block at 7:30.
  32. Shift to a left leg forebalance and scoop block with the right hand.
  33. Fold and strike with a right hand sudo block at 3:00 (low).
  34. Shift to a right leg forebalance and scoop block with the left hand.
  35. Shift to a left leg forebalance and scoop block with the right hand.
  36. Shift to a right leg forebalance and scoop block with the left hand.
  37. Point a left hand punch at 12:00 and step into a horsestance while punching with right hand. “kia”
