MOVEMENTS: 29
KIA’S : on 1st, 12th, 25th and 29th movements
MEANING: Named after the Hwa-Rang youth group which originated in the Silla Dynasty about 1350 years ago.

Hwa-Rang position at 12:00 (left hand over right at belt level)

  1. Step out into a horsestance at 12:00 with right hand in chamber and press across body with left hand.
  2. Punch with right hand and then with left hand.
  3. Step with right foot to 3:00 and box block in right fighting stance.
  4. Underhand chop with left hand while folding right hand to your center line then chamber right hand on right hip and punch with right hand to 3:00.
  5. Chop with right hand and got to cat stance.
  6. Step and punch with left hand in a left leg forebalance.
  7. Low block with left hand to 12:00 in a left leg forebalance.
  8. Step and punch with right hand.
  9. Step up to a form sidekick position and sidekick with right leg.
  10. Land in a right hand sudo block.
  11. Step into a left leg forebalance and punch with left hand.
  12. Step and punch with right hand. “kia”
  13. Turn counter-clockwise and open-hand box block to 3:00 in left side fighting stance.
  14. Step into a right leg forebalance and spear thrust.
  15. Turn counter-clockwise and sudo block to 9:00 in a left side fighting stance.
  16. Closed hand sudo block (no step).
  17. Right leg come-around round kick.
  18. Left leg come-around round kick.
  19. Sudo block in a left side fighting stance.
  20. Low block to 6:00 in a left leg forebalance.
  21. Yok-jeen block in a left side fighting stance.
  22. Yok-jeen block in a right side fighting stance.
  23. Yok-jeen block in a left side fighting stance.
  24. Step into a left leg forebalance facing 4:30 and crossblock low. “kia”
  25. Slide right foot to left backwards and open hand elbow strike opponent at 10:30.
  26. At 3:00, low block with left hand while scoop blocking with right hand.
  27. Turn to 9:00 and low block with right hand while scoop blocking with left. Then low block with left hand while scoop blocking with right and then low block with right hand while scoop blocking with left.
  28. Step and sudo block to 9:00 in a left side fighting stance.
  29. Step to 3:00 and sudo block in a right side fighting stance. “kia”
